The short version

Terpe collects nothing. Your cards, your photos and how you’re doing stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. There’s no account, no analytics and no advertising.

Camera and photos

When you scan a page or pick a photo, Terpe reads the text on your device with Apple’s built-in text recognition. The picture isn’t saved or sent anywhere; only the cards you keep are stored.

Your decks

Decks and your progress are stored in the app and, with iCloud sync on, in your own private iCloud, so they’re the same on your iPhone and iPad. Peter has no access to your iCloud. Turn sync off in Settings and they stay on the device. If you share a deck as a file, it goes only where you send it.

Read aloud

Cards are read with the voices built into your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
